Im missing adobe flash plugin on CHROME, but when i go to the download site

it says i already have the latest? when i watch a video on GOOGLE CHROME, it says im missing a plugin, so i go download adobe flash player,but i cant because it says that i already have the latest built in adobe plug in......??
and i tried to manully add it in but it doesnt work... :S help!
