I'm making a story. Tell me what can I do?

The beginning sounds lame and I need some advice for making it better. (Also help me with anything else you see):

Just like a raindrop I fell into this world. Splash. From the clouds you can see it all. The world. It looks perfect. You know your destiny, and it’s to fall from the safety of the clouds into something new. Fall from the arms of your parent into a new world…but little do you know about the world. Just like a lion raised in a cage, it doesn't know anything of what lies outside. So it just surveys…watching the seemingly perfect world, orderly. People leisurely milling about in lines and those who do come close say in awe, “look at the powerful animal”. But raised in the cage, without any space to stretch its arm or legs, the lion doesn’t know its power. The only thing holding it back from the happiness everyone shares outside is this parent, this cage. It’s so eager to have freedom…yet, equally unsure, even frightened, the cage is all it has known, it’s a safe place. Nevertheless, one day…it breaks free. And only then does the lion discover that people are the animals. Their lines disperse into scrambling mobs running over tables, tearing at everything and destroying the perfect world that can only exist while you are in a cage. Then everything goes into flames as you hear a “bang” and the perfect world fades. All because you are power and power needs to be contained.

Reality arrived to me in a similar fashion. A loud “bang” of light made a crack in my perfect sky as I slipped off the side of a cloud, eager to enter into the new world. However, the closer I got, the more it faded as the beautiful solid green and blue colors quickly changed into black and brown. As I fell, the ugly details were revealed as the world became twisted and broken, dented and cracked. Then I hit the blunt surface of reality just like a raindrop hitting the earth, my mind was shattered. My view of the world just changed in mere seconds.

A raindrop hit my head as Jackson and I walked out of the building while he continued telling me one of his “weekly philosophies” as we walked towards the car.
“Funny thing is, sovereigns have always used the symbol of the lion to represent courage and leadership. However, you know what is a more common trait they share? Tyranny. The people who see the lion escape from the cage, the peasants who see their ruler trot into view. They see a game changer. They see the power to take my life whenever you want it.”
“Yeah, but peasants aren’t running for their lives like the people escaping from the lion”. I retorted.
“You may not see it on the outside, but peasants are probably escaping through their uneasy actions around a king. They would sell their own brother to keep the king from killing them. They would sell their own voice to keep the king from killing them! You know how much peasants lie and steal to stay alive?”
(Insert something here)
“Anyway, we can also put this into perspective within ourselves. We are the lion and the lion has potential to change this world around him, good or bad. Too much power almost certainly leads to bad so don’t tell me that if you ruled the world, that you would do it correctly. See, this is why the people around you have created this cage of what you can and can’t do! You try to be an innovator and change the rules and they put you in line. Because they know that if they took away the cage of society’s standards, you would become a tyrannical man-eater! Look at what happens to the people in natural disasters, they loot stores, break windows…and if you can name me one good dictator I will take this whole conversation back!”
