i posted this question last night but i realized i needed to add a bit more detail to it.
i've been learning how to drive manual on a lexus IS 300 its my cousins car. and he said im "really get the hang of it that im picking it up quick"
i plan on driving and practicing driving manual for a while longer im trying to sell my car which is an automatic and get a standard car i've been looking into the mazda rx8
so my question is:

after knowing how to drive manual and getting it down on the lexus IS 300 would a manual mazda rx8 be a good choice of car to own for my own first manual car?

i've gotten a lot of no's before but i dont think i worded it good enough i just wanted to make sure.

thanks

An rx8 has a rotary engine which can be tricky sometimes, for example when you start the car and don't let it warm up completly before you shut it off it will flood the car meaning you will have to go through the process of getting that issue taken care of, either at a shop or yourself if you are familiar with the issue and the engine.

I honestly don't think this would be a good car as a first car. Its rear wheel drive so you need to drive extra careful in bad weather and NEVER take it in the snow or icy roads (body damage is super expensive too...)

If you think you can do the research, drive a sports car safely and keep up with expenses, then by all means get an Rx8.

*Also Mazda voluntarily recalled almost all engines for RX8's 04-06 so make sure if you are buying used that you get the paperwork to prove that the engine was replaced or if the vehicle passed the vaccum test so that the engine did not need replacing. The recall was due in part to oil leaks in the engine that resulted in catalyst failure. (just another headache for rx8 owners...)
