I'm looking for help with going into forensic engineering when older?

I was reading up on forensic engineering and it really caught my eye. I want to know what my next step is. College is coming up in a year for me and i was wondering if maybe you could give me some tips and tell me what classes maybe you took and good colleges and what to major/minor in. Colleges close to NJ please so i can research them. Thanks
