I think that despite what they might think, Fourteen year olds are too young. I'm going to get many thumbs-down for this, but I don't care. I at least won't bullsh^t over this.
I was 14 when I gave it up for the first time. I thought it was right, but I was really wrong. The guy dumped me three days later. You are so young, lacking a real job and funds. A teenager is still self-centered and not ready to give up their lives for a childs. Imagine a child's life raised solely by a 14 year old. The dad most likely does nothing now for the baby, and has moved on. I think teens are getting sexually active too soon, blame it on the media, parents, friends, whatever. I really respect someone who has the guts to hold on to their virginity until they are older, because I believe they are the true idols and role models, not Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, etc.
I won't judge you if you have sex at the age of fourteen. All I will say is I will greatly encourage you to use 2 kinds of protection: Birth control and condoms. It's better that way and gives you better protection. I recommend against having sex at the age of 14, but I won't break into your bedroom when you are about to go at it and stop you. I guess it would be hypocritical.
All I know is that I really wish I had held on to it. I feel like I lost a part of myself when it happened, and it's something I can never get back. I regret everything, and wished I had kept it for my current boyfriend (I'm 17). He is my love and the one I wish I had given it to.
Be incredibly careful and understand the consequences that may come. Don't do something that doesn't feel right or that you will regret.
