I'm interesting in opening a lounge or a night club...how do I go about that?

I live in Chicago and I'm a part-time bartender. I don’t want to ask people that I work with. I asked once they just told me that I will lose money and that's it. I know if you open a place and you are smart about it you could make good money. I'm 29 years old, single mother, who is very serious about this...and losing money is not an option for me. If I would do it I want to do it right...so getting as much information is my first step. I’m aware of all the license and permits. So I'm waiting for the feedbacks...Thank you
 
like you said make research, look for places that seem simelar to what you wanna start, take notes and maybe ask people in that place what they like and what they dont like about it, what attracted them to the place. research several places. combine ideas and make a plan/sketch. image is everything, get opinions on how the look should be.
