I'm interested in photography, wear do i start?

Okay so, i really want to get into photography but i don't know wear to start? I'm a student so I'm on a reasonably low budget.
Like what would be the best camera for a beginner that wont cost me and arm and a leg? And do i need some sort of computer editing program, bear in mind that I'm using a Mac.
Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

Not many pawn shops will give you much for an arm or a leg but a price range for your camera would be nice.

You can start to learn from any camera, how much you learn depends on both the camera and you.
