Im in the process of buying a car for the fist time and need advice on negotiating

he's asking 3700? What should I start off with. I was thinking 2200 and going up but no more then 2800 or 3000. Its an 04 Aveo with 92830m, cd player, it doesn't have pw windows or locks, its an automatic, may have some blemishes, and its missing a hubcap.

Is 2200 a reasonable offer or starting place? If not what is?

KBB: 3550 (good)
3075 (fair)

NADA: 2525 (average trade in value)
