im in law school but i have enoromous credit debt and hospital bills if i file

You need to check with the state bar association. People do not understand you must past the bar but also there is an application that goes with it to be accepted to practice.

In the state of Cal. the answer is yes, it is up to the review board.
Which approve all applications to practice.
 
Not at all, just remember you cannot bankruptcy out of student loans.

Bankruptcy does not go to character and fitness in regards to admission to the bar.
