I'm hoping that someone can concur on a solution for a problem on an 02 Ford Escort?

I this before, but I had more to add to it. I was told that the engine code P0171 dealt with the MAF sensor. I have already replaced it 3 times. Each time I replaced it, I disconnected the positive battery terminal. Will cleaning it and disconnecting the negative battery terminal finally solve my problem?
I now can accept emails
