So, our stairs lead to the second floor, and there's walls on both sides of the stairs, and at the top of the stairs there's a light fixture. I painted the walls outback color (behr), with eggshell finish, but when the light fixture is turned on the walls of the staircase look horrible. It looks fine in some places, and then there are places where it seems like it has not been painted....but it has. I tried painting up-down (the W way), then tried to paint horizontally to get rid of those "blobs", but no good results. Is there a trick when painting the stair-walls? The living room is the same color and it looks fine when we turn the light fixtures there. Would a lesser shine finish (like flat) help me? Thank you in advance.
