I'm having transmission problems with my 1997 ford explorer xlt?

My explorer is shifting by it's self when I go about 65 mph, and it drives rough. Before this problem started I noticed that my 4x4 light would come on at times. I also noticed that while in park my RPM would start to increase with my foot off the gas. Could it be something simple like a sensor, or do I need a new Transmission? Thanks.
 
yep its a sensor, take it in to a ford garage, dont have some shmo mechanic look at it, youll be happier to spend a extra 45 dollars and have it done right, been there done that, ive bought fords all my life
