I'm having problems with my iMac, please help!?

When I turn it on, it freezes and I can't moce the mouse or type anything. I turned it off using the button that turns it on and I changed the batteries in my wireless mouse and keyboard, and when I turned it on, it was still forzen. Now every time I turn it off and on, it won't restart, it just acts as if it was on sleep. Please help me, I don't know what to do
I also tried cutting the unpluging it and it restarts and freezes.
