I'm having problems with my bikes suspension? Or is it me?

Okay, I ride dirt, and my bike is a GT Tempest 2.0. Except I have started having this problem when I jump:

I used to go to this centre where they had lots of dirt based courses. I was with some friends and we went on to the slopestyle area. In the slopestyle bit, they had lots of jumps and we started practicing on them. I had been before a couple of times, and had no problems whatsoever. But when I went this time I had problems which meant that I couldn't actually ride the jumps (without putting myself at risk of injuring myself!). What happened was, when I actually went up the launch of the ramp (the curved bit that gets you in the air) my bike would seem to launch off at an angle, almost as if the ramp was badly built (but it wasn't). This may not sound bad but what it meant was that I felt very out of control and it felt as though I was going to fall off, meaning that I would have to put my foot down and recover the bike before carrying on with the run. It did this every time I took the jump... I would jump, the bike would kick to the side, I would almost fall off, put my foot down to recover bike, carry on with run...
Originally, I thought that it was me, but then my friend, who is far better than me at biking, said that he would have a go to see if it was me or the bike, but when he took the jump, he DID crash and he said that he could definately feel there was something up.

It feels as though there is something wrong with the suspension, because it knocks me off the bike a bit, putting me out of control. I am now afraid to jump my bike, or ride any dirt tracks containing drops incase I fall off, it seemed pretty stupid to ride if I am very vunerable to crashing. My bike isn't old, its kinda new (1 year and a half ive had it), so it is unusual for the suspension to be going already?

Has anyone had this problem before, or does anyone have a solution to this problem?? Any help to get me riding again would be much apprectiated!!

Thanks. :)
