I'm going to court on oct 14 can my work fire me?

I have a court date on 10-14-2009. for my 2nd DWI in 5 Years. I been told I can up to 20 days in ADC. and I started working on my work in Arbys Sepember 1st. I only told them that I needed a day off on 10-14-2009. How can I tell them that I need the day off because I need to go to court that day. and that i MIGHT spend 20 days in jail

Yes, they can terminate you. More than likely, they will be okay with giving you the day off to attend court, but spending time in jail; I am sure will be a terminable offense.
 
You more than likely will be fired if you go to jail.

What is the probation period for your job? It is usually 90 days. If you miss any work in that time frame you can be fired.
