I'm going to a swing dance?

Tomorrow at my high school, I'm going to our schools swing dance. They have lessons an hour before the dance but I can't make it. I'm kinda nervous cuz I don't really know how to swing dance...any pointers or suggestions?? Thanks soooo mch. Also, it's semi formal..what does that mean?
