Hi, im going camping in school and was wondering...Is it okay to have a box of granola bars in my tent and will the animals tear the tent down looking for it? We are camping in Maine. So there will be black bears probably.

Sorry, NO food in the tent. No matter how well sealed an animal will track it down.
Bear bag all your food and keep any food related items like pots and utensils away from the tents.
BTW, you're not just trying to keep bears out of your stuff, I've had more mice and chipmunks get into my food than any other animal! And believe me those little critters running around your camp with attract the meateaters. So keep your camp as clean as possible.

i would not recomend a hungry bear will go after it dont leave open food in the car either they can rip into that like a tin can

Never leave food in your tent or any product that may smell of food. ie, toothpaste shampoo. Put all these items in a bear proof container and hang between two trees at least 12 feet up. or keep these items in the trunk of a car or bear-proof lockers in your campsite.

REI has containers if you don't have one. They also have a wealth of info for first time campers

Have fun
