i'm getting cold air but no heat do i need a thermostat for my 1998 cadillac catera?

before i would get cold air on left side and hot air on right side. now am getting cold air on both sides
 
if you are not getting any heat at all change the thermostat.... this should fix it..... no if you are smelling antifreeze in side the car feel under the passenger side and make sure it is not wet,but if you are smelling antifreeze you may have a bad heater core
