So I currently have 1 female fantail goldfish about 8 years old who is living in a 2.5 gallon tank (I think :s) and I am going to upgrade. I know its a small tank but my fantail has lasted 8 years in it and I should have done this a long time ago and should at least have a 10 gallon tank for 1. I also want to get another fantail when I get my new tank.
I don't really know what your supposed to do when you get a new larger tank. You have to wait like a month so some type of bacteria can grow but I don't know a whole lot about it. All i would do in the one i have now is empty the tank, clean it, put new water, put a water stabilizer that takes the chlorine out, and put my fish back in.
Please answer my question, i don't want to get my new tank and then have my fishy die because i did something wrong
