IM Forwarding

I have a Nokia 3587i and I tried to register my phone for IM forwarding so it can send me messages but it told me that it sent the confirmation code to my phone and I never got it, and i've tried it many times and still have got nothing. Please help!
 
does you text messaging work, what provider do you have, did you call them and ask if you have any textmessaging
