I'm Dominican and I prefer salsa over bachata or merengue, am I self hater?

I'm not a very big fan of bachata or merengue except for a few songs, I much prefer Salsa. The thing is, almost every dominican loves bachata and merengue and Salsa is more of a Puerto Rican/Cuban thing. Does this make me a self hater?
P.S. They are genres of music.

I'm proud of being Dominican, I just prefer the music of Puerto Rico.
Bachata and Merengue are to Dominicans as hip hop is to blacks and the jonas brothers is to little white girls.
