I'm Dominican and I prefer salsa over bachata or merengue, am I self hater?

Is that a bad thing? I really am not too big of a fan of Bachata or Merengue except for a few songs. I prefer Salsa and there aren't many Dominican salseros, Salsa is more of a Cuban or Puerto Rican thing. Does this make me a self hater? I'm proud of being Dominican but much prefer Puerto Rico and Cuba's music.
A Dominican not liking Bachata or Merengue is like a black person not liking hip hop or an Indian not liking Curry!

Bachata, Merengue and Salsa are types of latin music.
