I scratched the offside rear wing two weeks ago. It's not a huge dent but I noticed it has a little rust forming now where the paint came off. I have all the grades of sandpaper, t-cut, paint, primer, and lacquer. Could someone write me some simple step by step instructions on how to do this. I did a little patch on my bonnet not that long ago but the paint ran. I want as close to a professional finnish as I can.

It was on the ice before you start with the women drivers thing!

=P
Also do I need to get that putty stuff, or can I just paint it how it is? Cheers
It's not, it's an N reg Micra. The panel would cost £250 to paint. The car's only worth £500.

Sand paper won't take out the dent. if the dent isn't that noticeable then just touch up the paint and then compound it after is dries to smooth out the paint touch up. If the paint ran elsewhere you can gentley sand the run with 2000 grit sand paper and then buff it to smooth it out. Just be sure you wet sand it, do not dry sand it.

Hi, I don't know the instructions, but my brother did advise me because we have a similar scratch on our car (again due to black ice). He told me that the car had to be clean and dry, not left in the sun (it will dry streaky) and when the product is dry and hard use a good dose of car wax, this will make the repair strong.
I would recommend going to the T-Cut website and they may have step-by-step instructions. Also try YouTube, there maybe a user video you can watch.

first off you need to sand the area with some 80 grit sandpaper to remove the rust and feather out/blend the edges of the paint around the dent.then fill the dent with some body filler.you can get this filler at your local auto parts store.then sand the filler till it fills the dent and feels flat even when you rub your hand over it.it may take a few times of putting on the body filler to get it flat/even.then primer the area and sand it with some 320 grit sandpaper making sure when your done that all pin hole and sand scratch from the 80 grit if filled.then reprimer the spot and then when its dry,use green scotchbrite on the area and paint.it sounds like you have painting experience and your getting runs because your putting on the paint to heavily.apply several light coats of paint instead of heavy ones.

if its a decent car then return all the materials you have bought and take it to a bodyshop,.
