...Chrysalids)? Alright, so, I'm in the 9th grade and we're doing a debate. We read The Chrysalids earlier this year and our teacher is making us do a debate. Now, I'm not looking for someone to just do my homework for me, do dont worry. I love debates. I just want to make sure that we've thought of EVERYTHING the opposition might say.
So basically, my side is the government which means that we agree with the statement "There are no bad guys in The Chrysalids". We have defined the terms as "There are no characters with cruel intentions in the novel, The Chrysalids" I'm just wondering what you would say if you didnt agree with the resolution. If you were on the opposition side and thought there were characters with cruel intentions. We've already thought of Joseph Strorm and we're going to say that he didnt see any of his actions as cruel because he thought he was just following the law, helping.
Any opinions? Thoughts on what the opposition might say, how we can rebut against it, and any other points in general that my side should bring up? Thanks, much appreciated.
