My niece is going to turn 3 in May and I have always noticed she is slow in development. The only word she says is daddy. She will not make eye contact with anyone and really doesn't like to be held except in the morning when she first wakes up. We thought she may have a hearing problem because she won't answer to her name when she is running off so we have to chase her to catch her. It seems like she is in her own little world. She does love to play with my kids though. I have been reading about Autism symptoms and she seems to have a few. I know her uncle on her mom's side of the family is Autistic and my sister-in-law has some mental issues to the point she does not work and receives Social Security. How should I talk to my brother about it? I'm sure he has to have a clue about it but may be in denial. Please help!
