300 for a ford escort wagon. Comes with snow tires runs good. the only thing wrong is both the rear rocker panels need to be replaced. I have no idea what that means or how big of a project it would be. I know i haven't heard great things about fords but it would just be to get threw the winter with. Is this a good deal??? thanks.

Hearing great things about any car company doesn't matter. Or hearing bad things, either.

You're not buying the company, or the cars the people were talking about. You're buying the specific one that you are looking at.

And unless people said great things about that exact one, it's totally irrelevant.

For 300$, you're buying a car that was thousands of dollars, when new.

So, consider what shape the one you're looking at is in. $300 barely buys a set of decent tires. An entire car? Total, and utter crap.

It's 300 now, but expect to spend thousands on it, in repairs, catching it up on maintenance, etc.

If you have to ask if something is a good deal...it's not.

It's fine for 300$, if you do not plan on keeping this car for years and years. Sure, you will run into problems but the car should still be able to run and bring you from place to place.

If there were any mandatory repairs that would be costing you above 200$, don't do it. I would never do a repair on a car that costs more than the car itself. I would just take the car to a scrap metal yard and sell them the car and get some money back for it.
