on the news a lady during a Congressional hearing re: the matter said her toyota/lexus e300 stuck full throttle and she could not stop it by pushing the brakes.. anyways could she have just turned the ignition off and then stopped?
i doubt that, i know with an auto it has to be in park to start but not to kill, these people are just idiots not knowing how to operate there car when a floor mat pushes down there gas pedal...

No not really. The new Cars are designed to only turn off during when your gear is in park. The key wouldn't turn if she switched it off and kept moving.

i doubt it gets stuck at full throttle unless she was hitting the gas full throttle, yes she couldve turned ignition off. i wouldve just slammed it into neutral then shut it off and coast to safety
