folklore or influential eras where do I start?!?
I was thinking maybe Celtic or African masks or any other indigenous aborigine tribes masks. Another interesting categories may be the masks used in Japanese plays...or masks with particular historical weight such as the plague doctor mask which had started out being used for practicality, the beak for example was used to store healing remedies for doctors being exposed to the (boobonic?) plague and it is also debated that they were used to protect these doctors anonymity during such dark times....either way it has has been glitzed and embellished into a collection of other exaggerated anthropomorphisms of human satire such as a janus-face mask
