wow...yet another pretentious music connoiseur coming out to scold naughty me.
i never said it wasnt cool to like those things, on the contrary it would be a lot more fitting considering the type of people i hang out with but thats not the point, the point is it took me by surprise and i didnt expect to be listening to radiohead or APC...the comment on music for tripping came from suggestions of others and some things i have read. I havent really done it yet. I never said i didnt like other kinds of music, i just didnt listen to them as regularly as rap. i dont know where you get that i was high when i first started listening to Pink Floyd but its not true. and the comment about them not doing any "drugs", Syd Barrett was known to have been doing LSD for years which is one reason given for his decline in mental health. but i'm not here to get into a pissing contest with some music "intellectual". Thanks for letting me know what kind of assholes i might have to encounter when listening to "tastefull" music. I love how ignorant people choose to judge music subjectively "this is respectable, that isnt" it really makes it easy to weed out the morons from the rest. thanks darling ;) I put your two cents in a jar...i'd imagine you'll be needing them later.

and arent you the one who was trying to find a way to get high because no one was talking to her so she decided to drink some alcohol and listen to ICP (which if i'm not mistaken is the...um..INSANE CLOWN POSSE...fucking loser),the epitomy of respectable, tasteful music....*sigh*

Everything on the radio today IS crap, and worse, 95% of it somebody else's RECYCLED crap. I can't actually remember the last time I bought a new CD ... I used to buy all my music on vinyl or download it.

Altough your taste in music my change and expand to new genre's and artists, you will always love the music you grew up with. *sigh* ... *nostalgic moment*

Yeha they do, but walk into your avg. sam goodies and ask for it (as if any of us would, but anyways) and you just get looked at like you are a freak and then they start calling you ma'am....fucking kids these days. Better yet, ask for Joan Jett.....this girl there didnt even know who she was.
 
well i can say i might be wrong about that then. i usually get a lot of info from a friend who's generally excellent at her research skills, which is why i trust what she tells me. of course i can't say she's right all of the time so that was a mistake on both our parts. i'm still a little suspicious though... because i do mean she's excellent at her research skills. so i'll might/might not get back to you on that, whether i find something out or not.



i don't try to look like anything. i state what i know and what i think and that's the way it is thrown down. think what you want about it, i have respect from better people than anyone on a website.
care? who ever said i cared? more like i'm disgusted what people do while listening to good music. not that i haven't experimented myself while i had listened to any kind of music, it's just the fact that they base any type of recreational pharmeceuticals around it. you just don't get the same appreciation for the actual brilliance of the music usually.



you do know there's other mind altering drugs other than acid right? anything that changes the way you think, do, or feel is a drug. of course when it has to do with this conversation, we're talking about the more impairing kind, of which there is more than one. and you would know that if you actually read the thread in it's entirety though.



um, well once again, IF you had read correctly, you would have noted that i mentioned i do listen to some rap. i didn't get into it, i merely mentioned that i'm not an anti-rap hardass. it just seems to me like of all genres of music to be so focused and dependant on, it's rap. which in specific cases is respectable for good reason, and there's a lot that's not for exceptionally good reasons. do i care what you need or don't need? uh no not particularily. if you're too ignorant to want to listen to others views and oppinions, that's your problem. don't worry, i'll keep posting all that i wish and you can keep whimpering about it and fiendishly getting back at me by giving me bad rep. thanks for that, makes me look more hardcore! :tongue:

yes i can still say i'm intellectual about music. i'm not perfect but i'm still knowledgeable, and i still strive to be even more so.

hey hun, reality check, everyone judges! you can't avoid it, even you do it bud. is that not what you're doing right now? yes i listen to ICP i think they're hilarious and once again, if you listen to the music instead of casting it aside for being a little over-board for your confined tastes, you'd notice they have some meaningful songs. and wouldn't that be a little hypocritical of me to rag on you for having such a close mind when all i listen to is ICP? because that's the whole extent of my interest of course!
did i say i've never gotten high or drunk before? uhh no! it's been done plenty of times. but for the last fucking time i don't base it around what i listen to/observe. when i first watch or listen to something i prefer to do so without the aid of any drug or alcohol.
i like that you assumed that thread is about every day of my life. thankfully, it was merely a single night where i hadn't had anything that needed to be done, yet everyone else was busy, and i was bored. the urge just came, and it was disappointing. so i'm sorry if i felt the need to bitch about it, because according to you it obviously defines my life and i should just deal with it since i go through it on a daily basis and make numerous threads about it.

If you would notice, I obviously omitted your "I do like some hip hop" statement with an elipse (... since you obviously didn't know), as it wasn't relevant to the point I was making, nor is it relevant now. You made condescending remarks about hip hop, the fact that you listen to it only makes your statements contradictory and silly. Saying; "hey man most rap is crap, you shouldn't be proud to listen to that shit it sucks, btw I like some rap". (Yes I paraphrased, but that's what I got from your statements, I believe bigck3000 did as well.) Only make you look like a blubbering idiot. You should check the relevance of your sources so you don't look like you're clueless. Maybe you can hold an adult conversation when you grow up, for now I digress.
