I'm an upcoming deejay who's trying to learn how to make a mix and blend music. Is this a good way to do it?

For instance, if I was making an r&b mix....

I should gather up a bunch of r&b songs....like 100

Find a track that sounds good

Then go through 99 tracks and see which fits with that

Is that how deejays do it?
