Any phone that is touch-screen, or a "smart phone" with a nice large display is going to have poor battery performance. If you want good battery life, get a simple phone like a Razr or such.
My suggestion would be to go on ebay and buy a couple spare batteries for your phone for $10 or $15 and keep a spare one with you, if you like the phone other than the battery life
