I'm a camping virgin! I need help!!!!?

So I've literally never been anywhere near a campsite before, I have a tent but it's still in it's box. Anyway, I'm going with 11 more friends to a campsite for 3 days in two weeks. We're stying for two nights. It's avery mountainous area with a beach near-by.
What do I need to bring?
What o I need to know?
Any tips or info you think I should know?
 
You need a sense of adventure and courage
Here's some other suggestions
your tent
Sleeping bag
flashlight
food stuff if you plan to eat there
bug spray
clothes
knife
stuff to cook in and eat off of if cooking on site
( I suggest that you at least have a doggy roast and smores - what's camping without them?)
tarp if rain threatens and rain coat
You may want hiking shoes and swimming gear
Then there's all those other possibilities
but the nessesities are really food and shelter. So the first couple things are the biggies
