suggestions? yea i was thinking of getting the ducati 1098 or maybe an older model 999 do u think these bikes are to powerful for a beginner?

Terrible choice. If you're a newbie, then you shouldn't ride a veterans bike. It is extremely track focused, unforgiving, and monsterous. Insurance is going to rape your wallet and if you drop it while learning low speed maneuvers you're going to want to hang yourself.
Get a 600cc bike at the most. They are forgiving, still do 160mph, and less on insurance.
Take a MSF course. http://www.msf-usa.org

I'm guessing you want a supersport, but if you want a little more comfort and a less expensive bike, look at sport tourers like the Ninja 650R, SV650S, GSX650F, 599, Ducati Monster, Yamaha R6S, yamaha FZ6.

Ok, the last thing you want to get as a beginner is a liter bike (1000cc's or more). The second to last thing you want to get as a beginner is an expensive Italian superbike (Ducati, Aprilla, etc).
If you really want a sporty bike, get a Suzuki SV650, or GSX500F
