worryingly, I heard on the news that your armspan should be roughly your height if you're a healthy person, but mine surpasses my height - by four inches. What are the implications of this if my armspan is bigger than me? what is wrong, and what can go wrong?

thankyou for your time. :)

Most people vary from the so-called average "normal" without any medical significance. :)

In Marfan Syndrome other symptoms might include: hypermobile joints (double jointed), skinny, taller than the rest of your family, have a concave chest or protruding sternum, stretch marks on skin for no reason, flat feet, long narrow face, eye troubles, early osteoarthritis, problems with the valves of the heart, problems with the aorta and other smaller blood vessels, lung problems, spine problems.

Marfan can be mild to the point of being unnoticeable to so severe it becomes life threatening. It is inherited and underdiagnosed, so there may be a family history of symptoms without an actual "Marfan" diagnosis.

i have marfan syndrome. Please look into it! If you have it you need to be diagnosed! there are so many problems that can occur! most can be prevented with the right doctors. I live a.. somewhat... normal life. I'm happily engaged and expecting our first son in 3 weeks. It's not a death sentence but it IS a scary diagnosis! Do you have any of the symptoms mentioned by Leela? P.S. MICHAEL PHELPS the olympic swimmer has marfan syndrome and look what he accomplished!
