I'm considering stopping the hard alcohol mixers and sticking with a 'light' alcohol like Twisted Teas, to start. Then eventually, stop completely. Am I going to feel like my life sucks after quitting the alcohol I'm used to? Am I going to have withdrawals? Will I feel depressed?
The alcohol I drink daily (not during the day, of course) seems to give me a little added energy, and I'm used to it. And I like it.
I am looking for advice as to what to expect, and maybe some insight as to why I feel like I have to drink everyday. Is is just a bad habit that I have grown uccustomed to? Do I have a serious problem that requires medical attention? Am I just bored? Am I afraid of changing my habits?
Please, give any useful advice/opinions that you are willing to share with me.
By the way, I don't use any street drugs, or pills, or anything like that, just alcohol.
I am NOT looking for people to write "Get Help". I am looking for real insight in this matter. Feel free to share your own stories about alcohol use, quitting, or changing your lifestyle for the better, with regards to alcohol.
THANK YOU for your 'thoughtful' responses.
To clarify a little...I don't drink to get drunk. I will have probably 4 coffee brandys on an average evening. SOmetimes, of course, depending if company shows up, I will drink more than I had to expected to...because we are sitting around enjoying eachothers company. I don't tend to get drunk, but I do catch a buzz frequently. Rarely have a hangover, and I get done the daily chores and obligations. I'm always hoping that the clock will speed up to late afternoon so I can have a drink, though. Haha. Sad, but true
