I recently found out that there is a sexual predator living in my buliding. I do not feel comfortable living there considering I have a child. Last night I told my landlord I will be moving out at the end of this month, she got so upset because I did not give her a 30 day notice. So I told her I can move out April 9th (yesterday was march 9th) and she told me I cant do that. So I gave her a valid reason, why I was moving and told her that, i do not feel comfortable living there knowing there is a sexual offender. I was not expecting the reaction she gave me, she totally defended him! and stated that it was a mistake and they never found anything on him, but still needed to register. doesnt sound right to me. so what i want to know, can i leave? i do not have a lease with her or nothing.

If there is no lease, you have nothing to keep you there. You don't even have to give a 30 day notice.
