illegal and legal dog breeds in Australia?

I was looking at getting an english staffordshire bull terrier but recently i heard about american staffordshire terriers. When i was looking at them they looked alot like pittbulls which im pretty sure are now illegal in Australia. I know english staffordshire bull terriers arnt illegal in Australia but i was wondering if american staffordshire terriers are legal or illegal
