OK - So I'm living in Atlanta(-ish), and I have an upgrade coming to me from Cingular. I currently have a Motorola V400 which works absolutely fantastic, but I'm wondering what my options are as far as upgrades.
From my searching, I see that there are some phones that perform better in certain regions of the country than others - based on 850/1900 etc. So are there phones that work better in the SE than other regions?
I use my phone 90% or more of the time in the Atlanta regional area. The rest of the time we're driving all around to the most rural, remote areas of GA, AL, SC, FL, NC and TN. It seems that's where they build race tracks, far away from the people who would complain about them. That's where I need to make sure the phone works. Getting signal in a big city is easy, hell, even Next-trys work in Atlanta. It's getting a phone to work in some desolate back country nowhere area that concerns me.
I do not care about getting/sending e-mail on my phone, or surfing the web with my phone. I rarely (not never, but seldom) send/receive text messages. I rarely (not never, but seldom) take photos and/or movies with my phone. I have an MP3 player already, I don't need a phone for music. I need hands-free capability so I can do a second thing while I'm on the phone (drive, really). I don't care if it's blue tooth or not, but a wireless ear piece would be hella convenient. Games are fun when I'm killing time. Calculators are convenient. I am strangely drawn to the idea of being able to take and keep notes on the thing. I'll always have it on me, and I'm constantly forgetting things, so why not use it to remind me to do things? So a PDA-style phone would be great (I think). It also needs to keep dozens and dozens of phone numbers and e-mail addresses so I don't have to remember them. Something I can sync with my laptop or my work computer would really help a lot, too.
I hate the way this Motorola charges with that crap connection that never seems to connect correctly. I need a more positive interface between the charger and the phone. A 1/16" round plug would be nice, or something akin to that plug type.
Am I too picky here, or is there an option for a Cingular phone for me?
