ikasu mp4 player - car connection problems?

I am trying to connect my MP4 player to my car. The car is all set up as it is brand new with the correct connections. However, when i plug the MP4 player into the car using the USB, all that comes up on the MP4 screen is a picture of the USB. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
do you have the car amp on when you connect?try switching it off be fore you connect,as the player might have to configure the amp
