the point of taxing lower income brackets less than higher income brackets is that there's a certain minimum amount of money one needs to spend to live. you can't tax someone who makes $20,000 a year MORE than someone who makes $20,000,000 a year, it just doesn't make any fucking sense.

So it's the country that allows them to be successful? Sorry I was under the impression that one's hard work is what leads to success.

It has nothing to do with actually "paying them" it's about paying everyone else's share. The upper most 1% obviously pays the most but it seems unfair to pay an extra burden for their success in lieu of the bottom 50% paying much of anything.
