i'm gonna be 28 in a month or so, and I couldnt Relate to superbad in any way... Knockedup>superbad, unless your are under 23 years of age.

but dont get me wrong it was funny as fuck, i just couldnt relate, since that shit happend to me like 10+ years ago
 
oh i laughed, very hard but i just think i could relate to the main characters in knocked up, better. thats all, all in all it was a pretty funni movie..
 
lets be for real here... most people relate to highschool movies becuz thats the shit they WANTED to do but didn't.

the reality is there are those cliques and groups like you see in the movies. The cool kids, The jocks, The nerds then theres the kids you see in the background. You know..the ones that fill the classroom but don't belong to any of those groups. I'd say about 95% of the kids in reality were regulated to the last group..the background.

You weren't cool enough for the cool group.
Athletic enough for the jocks
or brainy enough and lacked fashion sense for the nerds...

So when you see a movie like Superbad or Sixteen Candles or The Breakfast Club (any john hughes movie really) or Porky's (the grandaddy of them all) you relate because thats the shit you WISH had happened to you..

Most of us DIDN'T get invited to those parties or have the funny awkward sexual awakening or get the girl in the end much less the fucking hot chick everyone creamed over in school. Yet that almost ALWAYS happens in the highschool movie..

Ever notice how its always told from the POV of the outsider? You relate becuz thats YOU..only in real life being the outsider isn't nearly as fun or adventureous.
 
I loved it but thought it was complete bs when that hot red-head invited the fat ugly kid to her party. Took me completely out of the movie, a girl like that would be completely superficial in high school and have all her own friends around her and no way she'd invite the ugly fat kid who smells to her party.


But other then that, funny as hell.
 
Lets be real, you sucked at life in highschool and are saying this wishing you were the person wishing they were the outsider that got all the shit in the end. In reality you were too far of an outsider to be an outsider. You get on the internet and bitch about how people wish they were someone, but at night when the lights are off you wish you were them.

You think that all those kids who watch harry potter flicks DON'T wish they were harry potter?? think again. How about james bond, tyler durden?

if a movie can't make you relate to or wish you were one of the characters then it didn't do its job.

All the people raving about superbad relate to at least ONE character in the flick becuz theres a LITTLE BIT of that character in them but the movie is an exaggeration..

Unless you are saying all the goofy shit dumb shit that happens in the movies really happened to you...if thats true then that means you're a fucking cartoon.

theres a difference between fantasy and reality..grow up
 
27, gonna be 28 this year, shit was hilarious ... home ec was just that, trying to get with girls and getting that easy-A ... i never had a fake ID but knew kids that did and drama EVERY SINGLE time they were gonna use it ... and i wish cops DID do shit like that when i was younger,
