A person should have every right to protect his or her family. There should never be fear of retribution for that. Even though there sometimes is it doesn't make a difference in how people react. Could you live with yourself if you didn't protect your loved ones? If people were allowed to take control of what happens to their property and family people would start respecting their boundaries again. People steal because they get by with it and kill for the same reason. If people could put a stop to it then the world might be different. There was a guy in the Houston area that shot a guy for stealing and the news made a huge things about it because it his neighbors house being robbed. So we are supposed to let the robbers get away if they are stealing from our neighbors? It seems like people forget that not everybody is well off enough to just go out and rebuy what is stolen. My husband had a 16 foot trailer taken from our yard that we still haven't been able to replace. That's why people steal, they make easy money and mostly don't get caught. So why not? If a person is stealing I could care less if it's from the pope, if people see it they should be allowed to put a stop to it. If the theives can't get off with the goods they make no money and the innocent people don't lose what they have worked so hard for. There is nobody standing around waiting to compensate the people for what is stolen. People can't get back the life that was taken when a person is killed or take away the pain when a person is hurt. But they can put in a dent in the persons life who caused the pain.
