If your cycles are shorter, could you get a positive when you miss your period?

Or would it take a few more days? My cycles are 26 days and I expect my next AF on the 18th. If it doesn't come & I take a test and let's say its negative, could it possibly still be a few days too early to get an accurate result?

If you have shorter cycles, when did you get a BFP?
