...repaint a section of car, WWYD? How do I do it? Thats why im asking, if this was YOUR -FIRST- Project with Car Paint of this type and you wanted to give it a shot to get your car back all one color and then lock it in by 'waxing' it (thinned paint, un-uniform quality, etc,) How would YOU do it?

The ONLY thing i have is the Rubbing Compound id need to get the stuff to apply it AND the rest (Claybar, Paint, etc) so im asking the way to do it from the Pros....

I need to repaint a section of my 1991 Ford Escort, the paint is White (my car's color is.) I need to work on the section on the Door, the part above the door (roofliner?) and trunk/hatch where Blue overspray was sprayed, probably came out of a car paint sprayer. Also, on the other side, there is a little bit of rust and the paint is oxidized/ a little bumpy, but this is part of why i want to go to the Auto store and match up the shade of White as best I can....

Now I bought Turtle Wax Rubbing Compond (brown and creamy) and i have heard to sandpaper (with fine sandpaper) the Blue paint and the oxidized/rust spot.... I suppose then strip it more or Rubbing Compound it (how to apply?) - I have NO Tools, OR someone esle said to buy an Abrasive ClayBar and NOT use the Rubbing Compound....

But If I was going to spend about $50 and buy the Automotive SprayPaint from Advance Auto Parts (is there better car paint at a better store?) and perhaps a ClayBar, or a way to actually APPLY the Rubbing Compound right (leave it sit? 10 minutes? 1 hour? How long) with the aim of:

1) PREPARING the sections (Overspray and Oxidized,)
2) CLEANING them (goes with Preparing,)
3) REMOVING the Overspray and Oxidation (DO I sand with Fine Sandpaper? How Hard? Can I ClayBar the Oxidized/rusted part? When do i use the Rubbing Compund I have? Etc...) and then
4) Applying the NEW White Spraypaint and
5) Re-Waxing the whole thing to lock it in with or without affecting the ClearCoat (Waxing IS ClearCoat to protect all my Paint, right?)

--- How and What is the best way to do my Project, and would someone like me to send Pictures of the Car to see exactly what I am up against?

Thanks for the Input! Time is coming soon, maybe a few weeks...
