...with education....? just look at Texas. Governor Rick Perry has appointed most of these people and they continue to try to push religion (specifically Christianity) into school curriculum. First it was trying to replace science with creationism. And now this:
"Three reviewers, appointed by social conservatives, have recommended revamping the K-12 curriculum to emphasize the roles of the Bible, the Christian faith and the civic virtue of religion in the study of American history. Two of them want to remove or de-emphasize references to several historical figures who have become liberal icons, such as César Chávez and Thurgood Marshall."
I believe that religion should be taught in private schools, and not replacing existing curriculum. I would be all for an elective course on the philosophy of religions that discuss many religions, but forcing study of the Bible and its characters is wrong.
