"check engine" light go off? i just recently opened up my air intake box (by cutting off the "snorkel" that went into the drivers side wheel well; and part of the box itself. I did this to decrease the resistance made by the box.) i turned on the car and the "check engine" light did not turn on then i was wondering if i needed the IAT sensor or if i could just run straight piping from the MAF sensor back. so i disconnected the IAT and started the car again the "check engine: light stayed off. so i thought "alright cool i reconnected it and went inside. turning the car back on later the "check engine" light turned on now in not sure if this is from the intake box i opened up or the IAT, and do i need to get this reset.

Also if you can answer this that would be great. i need a new exhaust, the front of it, before the y junction is still in good shape, but the cat and back... not so much. the car has three cats; do i still need the large cat on the bottom of the car, or can i simple run straight piping through it and just put a turbo muffler on the back? and will this still sound ok? also i have the v6 manual model.
