If you unlock a Sprint HTC Hero can you use it on AT&T?

I'm thinking of getting an HTC Hero but the one made for Sprint. If I get it and unlock it will I be able to use it with my AT&T sim card? Will I have 3G? Thanks for the answers ahead of time!
