If you sell your own photography, do you need to register as a business?

I do abstract photography and want to set up my own website. I am not interested in for-hire work. I just want to have a place to point people to at galleries, etc. where they can see more of my work or order prints of something they like. For this kind of limited business, do I need to register as a business, copyright a "Jane Smith Photography" name or get a federal tax number? Or do I just need a domain name and that's it?
 
im not quite sure. I took a few photos of my own and set up a website on wix.com/amanda_gates88 you can look at my page.Anyow what I meant was that I'm not sure exactly if you have to have anything in particular, I just set up a website either way.
