Ignore the fact you know 15 different versions of the song, and most of them bring you to tears, just consider you had never heard of it, then ask yourself honestly: If someone on a poetry site had the audacity to rhyme “Hallelujah” with: Do ya, overthrew ya, knew ya, do ya (again) and outdrew ya… wouldn’t you just shake your head and try to find something less infantile to read? ;¬)
I've heard versions sung in "ahem" proper English, using "you" instead of Ya, and it just doesn't work. I think we should rename it, Halleluyou! ;¬)
