If you join the Coast Guard Reserves, and have a full time job how do you work out...

...the time for Boot Camp? I have been researching this online and cant find any information about how to get 8 weeks for boot camp with a full time job. If I join, it would be in the reserves so I don't want to endanger my employment. Are there laws that require employers to give time off for such a thing?
